ANGELUS NOVUS VAULT
Short film and A/R App development 2023
In 2023 I had the honor of participating in the 18th edition of the Venice Architecture Biennale working for the UCHV Research Film Studio in Princeton, NJ.
I worked on two parallel projects:
- Assembly / Disassembly: a short film by Erika Kiss (director of the Research Film Studio). Under her direction and in collaboration with Szabolcs Tóth-Zs. (New media artist), I was responsible for content creation and video editing (CGI), audio editing and technical direction of the installation.
- Plato's Cave App: an A/R application (based on the film Assembly / Disassembly) presented at the Biennale opening.
In collaboration with Mario Brescia (3d artist) we created the A/R app and interactive multimedia content extracted from the short film by Erika Kiss.
In both cases we worked closely with Princeton's Form Finding Lab team in the Angelus Novus Vault project, an impressive and innovative structure presented at the 6th edition of Time Space Existence at Palazzo Mora (VE) and winner of the Innovation Prize at the 18th edition of the Venice Biennale, running from May 20 to November 26 (2023).
Special thanks to Mario Brescia (friend and colleague in this adventure as App developer and 3d Artist), Carlo Olivieri and Vittorio Paris (structural engineers), Prof. Sigrid M. Adriaenssens (director of the Form Finding Lab and lecturer at Princeton University) and the team at the European Cultural Center (ECC) for their helpfulness and patience.

SELF_POLLUTION
Live A / V Performance
2022
Selected by Live Performers Meeting 2022
(Rome – IT)
Oceans pollution, everyone have heard about it.
It is not a secret that plastic has now become a component almost ubiquitous in sea life.
Media show us this reality, while governments seek timidly to fight it, but the situation does not seem to improve at all. Why are we so detached?
Art must do its part, as it isable to reach the hearts and to move consciences, art has the undisputed task of pushing people to deepen the issue.
Self Pollution, an a/v live performance can dive into this depth.
Sound, image and interaction are combined to give us a new underwater identity. Is it possible to get more awareness through the eyes and ears of animals we trapped under a cloak of pollution?
Probably the best way to put a problem in the spotlight is to place a subject at the heart of the problem.
And if this is true, what better way than trapping ourselves?

VIVAVOCE DESKTOP APP, VIVAVOCE WALL
Audio Software, Interactive training device
Vivavoce is a research center specializing in the prevention, diagnosis and rehabilitation of disorders and difficulties related to voice and language, communication, psychological and emotional-behavioral sphere.
In particular, the center has been dealing with stuttering since its inception.
We made a desktop software, to complement the rehabilitation work done by clinicians, which analyzes the characteristics of voice, speech, motor control in particular conditions.
The software allows for a number of useful elocution exercises giving results in real time.
In this way, center staff can: collect data on individual users, track an exercise history, analyze the results and compare them with the pre-course period.
The Vivavoce Wall is the first technological and interactive device designed as a tool to support a rehabilitation pathway on the topic of stuttering.
The Vivavoce Wall is a multi-sensory all-in-one technology device containing an expanded version of the Vivavoce Desktop App.
The system is constantly being updated.

SEN5E - "La bellezza è nelle mani di coloro che la sanno ascoltare" (A. Cappelletto)
Live A / V Performance
2019
Selected by Rome University of Fine Arts Contest 2019
(Rome – IT)
Do we know how to recognize beauty?
Do we know how to appreciate it?
We combined sensory experience with technology in a creative way by experimenting with its artistic rendering.
The performer experiences 5 sensory experiences, then tracked by sensors that generate multimedia content.
We used the face as a catalyst for states of mind.
Can a face recognition algorithm analyze the experience of sense stimulation and in turn create other multimedia content?
Role / Tasks:
- Artistic Direction
- Original Soundtrack
- FX and Lights.
Software:
Madrix, Max Msp, ProTools.

LIGHT INSTALLATIONS
(from 2017)
In these photos, a series of events where I was involved in designing lighting setups.
I am able to use Madrix, a powerful lighting control software used to control and synchronize complex LED lighting setups. With Madrix I can manipulate lighting fixtures in real time, creating light shows synchronized with music, kinetic shows, video content or other visual elements. I can program complex light sequences, manage color schemes and use various effects to create interactive and dynamic light shows.
I also use and manage lights with other software, integrate audio and video skills to create media interactions.
The goal is to leverage lighting technology and software solutions to deliver results for clients and audiences.
Role / Tasks:
- Light Designer;
- Madrix operator;
- Pixel mapping;
- Video content creator;
- Sound Engineer;
- Software developer;
- Artistic and technical director;

Studio für Elektroakustische Musik
2016
From 2016 to 2017, I worked as a technical assistant at Studio für Elektroakustische Musik (SEM) at Akademie der Künste (AdK) in Berlin (DE).
Under the direction of Gregorio Garcìa Karman, I had the opportunity to work with artists such as Christina Kubisch, Georg Katzer, Vinko Globokar, Carles Santos Ventura, José Manuel Berenguer and many others.
Noteworthy is the concert we have been working on for months with the SEM team to bring Luigi Nono's work “Quando stanno morendo. Diario Polacco No. 2” using the original documentation and instrumentation used by the artist in 1982.
The other tasks I covered were as follows:
- Technical support for resident Artists;
- Preparation and arrangment of complex concerts setup and audio installations;
- Tests and reports of audio devices;
- Implementation of new audio equipments into the infrastruction of the studio.
- Documentation about audio routings setup and historical scores;
- Research and orders of purchase for new audio equipments;
- Engaging with contemporary scores and MAX patches involving real time signal-processing and spatialization;
- Documentation about historical and contemporary works with live-electronics involving dealing with MAX patches and score reading skills.

COR1 - HARMONIZER AND PHASE VOCODER
Product Developement
2015
COR1 is a device to process the voice in real time with a particular harmonizer and vocoding technique.
The harmonizer builds input signal's copies; with COR1 you can add up to three signal copies "harmonized" in frequency and also with inharmonic intervals.
The signal's copy are indipendent which is that you can modify both their pitch and their amplitude.
The phase vocoder is a particular effect that enables to manipulate a vocal signal with a keyboard or a midi instrument.
Last software's part concerns a plate reverb that mixes the input dry signal with the wet one.
COR1 doesn't work alone: you have to plug it in a computer by USB cable and then you have to launch its dedicated app.
The hardware and its controls have been realized by the microcontroller Arduino1.
Role / Tasks:
- Everything .
Software:
Max Msp, IDE Arduino, ProTools.
